Love in the Sandwich

A  slice of the steel cut oat and hemp heart panini bread

back and forth serrated knife sliced nice

perfect pieces

i love you i love you i love you

turkey, ham, roast beef all clean,

cream cheese pesto

spread on thinly,

slice of farmer cheese,

olive oil

set in grill,

breathe

take out when all melty,

sprinkle inside the now hot steamy meat and cheese,

the

shredded carrot,

thin  sliver of cucumber,

thick red tomato,

romaine lettuce,

salad sprouts,

green pepper,

red onion,

all organic

including

the

love

packed in

all the way through

and on the outside, too.

Love, the most important

ingredient,

love

in every bite.

    There is an old commercial that used to run on TV where a dog runs around the house , panting about “bacon, bacon, bacon”. This reminds me a little of that. Such unbridled passion in the anticipation of eating something good. A little like the first meal prepared by your soulmate – packed with unrivaled love.
